THE first Philippine Kiteboarding Tour kicks off its five-leg circuit on Friday at Playa, Calatagan in Batangas with 2012 Kite Tour Asia Freestyle champion Ken Nacor from Boracay and last year’s KTA Asian Course race winner Jay Ortiz of Manila Kiteboarding heading the cast.
Over 40 kiteboarders are vying for honors in Twin-tip racing, Freestyle and Hangtime events in the three-day meet organized by the newly formed Philippine Kiteboarding Association.
The second leg is set Dec. 6 to 8 in Vigan followed by the Boracay leg from Jan. 3 to 5, 2014, and the Lake Caliraya meet from Feb. 7 to 9, with the finale set in Puerto Princesa March 7 to 9.
The event is backed by Cabrinha Kiteboarding, Landco, Playa Calatagan, Billabong, Dakine, Stoked Inc., Aloha Boardsports, Stilts Calatagan, Aee, and Beautiful Batangas through the office of Vice Gov. Marc Leviste.
