Typhoon Maring entered the country's area of responsibility on race day but failed to stop the 1,200 runners who took part in the August 18 race at the Mall of Asia. A total of 825 runners finished the race despite the heavy winds and strong rain that marked the entire 21-kilometer run. As expected, the Kenyans dominated the open category, claiming five of the top six finishes in the men and women's category.
