Robeno Javier bags duathlon bronze medal in Asian Beach Games in Thailand

ROBENO Javier placed third in the men’s duathlon competition on Sunday to give the Philippines its second bronze medal in the 4th Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand.

The 30-year-old Javier clocked 54 minutes and 57 seconds as Japan scored a 1-2 finish with Ryo Sueoka clocking 54:20 and Yuya Fukaura finishing in 54:27.

Carlo Pedregosa of the Philippines clocked 57:29 for sixth place.

The Philippines won two gold medals in ju-jitsu with Maybel Masuda winning the 50kg division and Annie Ramirez topping the -60kg class.

Former judoka John Baylon placed third in the men’s 80-kg division in ju-jitsu.
