SURVIVORS of dengue have come out to support the 2012 Run Against Dengue, presented by Tempra, slated on September 23 along the Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
Berlin dela Fuente of call center giant Accenture was just one of the many dengue survivors, who have vowed to join this advocacy run aimed at aiding the fight against the deadly disease.
“The run per se won’t kill the mosquitoes that cause dengue. But the information campaign, the awareness that this race brings, they are really valuable because they help us prevent the disease,” said the 30-year-old management consulting, technology services and outsourcing expert.
Other dengue survivors joining the fun held by the Subterranean Ideas and the Manila Sports Council are Jennilyn Sarmiento, Rhina Templo, Mark and Roderick Isip, Hannah Fuentes, George Candido, Maynard Superal, and Rome Masiglat, among others.
Corporate accounts may avail of as much as P100 discount on the already low rates of P500 for 10k, P450 for 5k and P400 for 3k runs. Students can avail of the P150 rate in the 3k run (without singlet).
A festive atmosphere is expected at the event, where raffle prizes from the sponsors, games for kids, special guests from the Philippine Basketball Association, a martial arts demo, among others, will be on hand.
