DAVAO CITY - The Kadayawan 100 Ultramarathon is tipped to be one of the year’s toughest road races when it gets going this Saturday.
The 100-kilometer footrace that starts and ends at the Brokenshire College in Madapo Hills will be the supreme test for the 100 runners to pass the screening to be done by organizers led by Roel Ano.
Assembly time is set at 4 p.m. with gunstart at 7 p.m. Cutoff time is 20 hours.
A side event is the Kadayawan Color Run which will have 3K, 5K and 10K categories. The color race will be staged on Sunday with gunstart at 5 am, also at Brokenshire College.
The registration fee for the ultramarathon is P1,950 and is inclusive of a race bib, singlet, finisher’s shirt, a medal, a plaque plus carbo-loading and finisher’s meals.
Cash prizes and trophy will be awarded to the Top 3 finishers in the men’s and women’s division. The top finishers of the ultramarathon will receive P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000 for men and P6,000, P5,000 and P4,000 for women.
Around 1,000 runners are expected for Color Run. Registration fees range from P350 to 300 and is inclusive of race bib, singlet, certificate and medal for first 100 finishers.
The 10K winners will be awarded P2,500 (1st), P1,500 (2nd) and P1,000 (3rd) respectively; the 5K winners will receive P1,500, P1,000 and P700; while the 3K podium finishers stand to gain P1,000, P700 and P500.
