THE Philippines suffered a 49-0 rout at the hands of China on Friday in the opener of the Asia Rugby U18 Girls Sevens in India.
The Under-18 girls national rugby sevens team composed of Inna Kwan, Maylene Dadivas, Yamani Dumlao, Angelie Hifume, Ysabel Del Fierro, Diana Cosare, Angela Hifume, Satchi Gonzales, Aira Lumanta, Nicole Kovanen, Briela Baui and Atasha Muhlach, daughter of actor Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales.
“Can’t believe I’m watching my daughter on tv play for our flag!!! Surreal!” Aga Muhlach posted on his Facebook page while watching the game via live stream.
The national team, under coach Kaye Honoras, needs to sweep its games against on Laos and Qatar on Saturday to keep alive its chances of advancing to the next round.
