PSC chairman Richie Garcia and other top sports officials head the sports stakeholders summit in Cebu.

THE Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) started on Monday a two-day National Sports Stakeholders Forum at the Crown Regency Hotel in Cebu.

Around 300 representatives of local government units across the country and Department of Education are expected to attend.

PSC Chairman Ricardo Garcia said different groups from various regions have asked for a meeting to discuss the programs of the commission to adapt or incorporate into their own sports programs.

The PSC board of commissioners will welcome guests from the Philippine Olympic Committee, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Education, and participants from different provinces, and municipalities.

The host city will be represented by Cebu City mayor Michael Rama.

“The response has been encouraging. We hope this forum would serve as a good stage to institutionalize some very worthy systems to unify our national efforts for  sports development," said Garcia.

The forum was originally set November 16 and 17 but was rescheduled due to the APEC Summit.
