DESPITE her new-found fame, Hidilyn Diaz insisted that entering show business is not part of her plans, saying her focus remains on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Diaz has been very busy with television guestings as of late, weeks after capturing the silver medal in the Rio De Janeiro Olympics.

But despite her busy schedule, Diaz said she is zeroing in on her training, as she has even started with light sessions at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Diaz also allayed fears that she might enter showbiz just like what happened to boxer Mansueto ‘Onyok’ Velasco after winning silver the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

“Wala po,” said Diaz, when asked if there are offers or she is even inclined on going to showbiz. “Priority ko talaga training ko.”

Diaz reiterated she is dead-set on competing in the 2020 Olympics, where she will be aiming to become the first-ever gold medalist of the Philippines.

“Hindi ko po masasabi sa future pero gusto ko talaga maglaro sa 2020. Committed ako doon. Gagawin ko ang lahat. Although mahirap i-adjust ‘yung time, kung committed ka, gagawa ka ng paraan,” said Diaz.

The Philippine sports heroine even bared plans of possibly competing this year as she has been invited to a tournament in Qatar on December.

“May naka-schedule na invitational sa Qatar. Baka maglaro ako sa December pero hindi pa sure,” Diaz said.
