FOX Sports Philippines unveils its new program “The GOAT,” an interactive magazine show which covers the hot topics in the world of sports.

Short for ‘The Greatest of All Time,' “The GOAT’ premiers on Thursday at 9 p.m. and will be hosted by Nikko Ramos, Suzy Gamboa, KC Montero, and the controversial Mo Twister.

During the formal press launch for the show on Tuesday at the Treehouse Tavern in Makati, FOX channel territory head Jude Turcuato said the program aims to become the most engaging local sports show on cable television.

“Two years ago when we decided to take on sports and launch FOX Sports, there was a lot of excitement because of the opportunities of the things we can do. If you look at the channels of FOX, it’s the best in the Philippines and we want to do something similar or along that same line with FOX Sports,” said Turcuato.

“We want to put together something that will elicit the passion and loyalty and commitment of sports fans. I think how sports fan react and connect with the sport itself, we want to take that to the next level, and I felt that that is what’s missing in the Philippine landscape.”

The GOAT features taped segments, news, interviews, and clever discussions of the latest issues in the NBA, PBA, and other sports.

The program hosts said the show will be very light, with banter common during the program.

“We are all sports fans and we are making the show for sports fans, no matter what kind of sports fan you are with the humor and all those references. At the same time, we’ll try to be as stupidly as we can,” said Ramos during a light moment in the press launch.

“We have such good chemistry. For me, it’s a lot of fun, different from any other sports shows. It’s all about having fun,” said Montero, who played basketball and baseball when he was young.

“That’s what every shoot is all about (having fun) for us,” said Gamboa. “Hopefully, people will enjoy the show especially the jokes.”

Mo Twister will broadcast straight from the US where he is currently based.
