SOLAR Sports unveiled its latest programs this 2017 which will focus on boxing and extreme sports including the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn.

The sports channel announced the Pacquiao-Horn fight which is being billed by the network as 'Unfamiliar Territory' will be aired on the network on July 2 from Brisbane, Australia.

“We will be using the campaign ‘Unfamiliar Territory’ because the fight will be held in Australia and it will be the first time Manny Pacquiao will fight in Australia to defend the title,” said Solar Sports marketing manager Paulo Fernandez.

“For Jeff Horn, unfamiliar territory because this is the biggest fight of his career,” he added.

Aside from the Pacquiao-Horn fight, Fernandez said Japan-based Pancrase MMA and Poland-brand KSW MMA has also begun airing its fights on the network this month.

Pancrase MMA, which began in 1993 and had top fighters in Ken Shamrock and Masakatsu Funaki as former champions in the promotion before, will be aired every Tuesdays at 8 a.m., while KSW will be shown every Wednesdays at 8 p.m.

“Solar Sports is known to have boxing and other fight sports so right now, this 2017, we are increasing our MMA programs,” said Fernandez.

Two magazine shows that are centered on extreme sports called World of Free Sports and Outdoor Sports Show will also be seen on Solar Sports every Monday at 7 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m. respectively.

“To keep Solar Sports young, we will be introducing extreme outdoor sports for the channel for our younger viewers,” said Fernandez.

Solar Sports is available on Cablelink (Channel 58) and to more than 300 cable providers nationwide.
