PBA coach Pido Jarencio in mourning after death of dad age 90

BENEDICTO Mariveles Jarencio of Sigma town in Capiz and father of former PBA star and current GlobalPort coach Pido Jarencio, yesterday succumbed to a long illness. He was 90 years old.

The elder Jarencio, a civil engineer who founded BMJ Construction, is the second family member in less than a year to depart following oldest son Giovanni’s death last May.

He is survived by daughter Cha and Celia and Boy and Pido, the former University of Santo Tomas hotshot who is requesting prayers for the soul of their departed father.

Benedicto’s remains lie in state at the Loyola Commonwealth chapels with interment to be announced at a later date.
