THE La Salle Dance Company-Street finally reclaimed the UAAP street dance competition title during the Season 79 closing ceremony on Saturday at the Plaza Mayor in University of Santo Tomas.

The Taft crew wowed the judges with their party-battle theme to score 89 points to win the competition after finishing second place last season.

It was La Salle’s third street dance title.

“Sobrang daming pinagdaanan. Being able to show what we’ve been preparing, sobrang fulfilling,” said Paolo Deluria, an executive board member of LSDC-Street.

Deluria added their theme was a reflection of the struggles of the dance crew to reclaim the crown.

“Parang LSDC against everybody else,” he said.

Last year’s champions University of the Philippines Street Dance Club grabbed the first runner-up honor with their Bruno Mars inspired routine, garnering a total of 88.75 points. Newcomer University of Santo Tomas Prime scored a total of 85.75 points to retain the second runner-up with the host school.

University of the East Armada, Far Eastern University Dance Company, Company of Ateneo Dancers, and Adamson CAST rounded the remaining places.
