MANNY Pacquiao is hanging up the gloves and focusing on public service.
The 42-year-old Pacquiao made his retirement from boxing official after a going 62-8-2 (39 KOs).
"I just heard the final bell... Tapos na ang boxing," said Pacquiao.
TNT ends Ginebra reign
TWICE-to-beat TNT Tropang Giga did not waste time against titleholder Barangay Ginebra, scoring a big victory to advance to the Philippine Cup semifinals.
The top-seeded TNT used balanced offense, with RR Pogoy scoring 16 points.
Troy Rosario had 15 points and Mikey Willams added 11 as the loaded TNT squad overpowered the undermanned Barangay Ginebra.
Christian Standhardinger had a huge double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds in 41 minutes of action.
Stanley Pringle scored 15 points for Ginebra, which was without Japeth Aguilar due to a sprained knee and Scottie Thompson, unavailable under the league’s health and safety protocols.
Gilas Women winless in Fiba group play
THE Philippine national women’s basketball team suffered another huge defeat, bowing to Chinese Taipei by 41 points, 93-52, in the 2021 Fiba Women's Asia Cup at Prince Hamza Hall in Amman.
It was the third loss in as many games for Gilas Women.
The Filipinas faces India in the classification match for seventh place, with the loser being relegated to Division B.
