IT was a week of departures and returns in the world of Philippine sports.

Tai Bundit made a fitting swan song before he returns to his native Thailand by steering the Creamline Cool Smashers to a Premier Volleyball League title.

It was a return of sorts for Hidilyn Diaz, who was named 2018 SPIN.ph Sportsman of the Year for the second time after leading the gold medalists in this year’s Asian Games in Indonesia.

It was also a departure for the UP Fighting Maroons seniors Paul Desiderio and Co. as well as graduating Ateneo guard Anton Asistio, who all played their final UAAP game in the Game Three of the title series.

Alab Pilipinas, for its, part, announced its return to the Asean Basketball League with a rousing victory to start its title-retention bid.
