Willie Morrison breaks eight-year-old record in ruling SEA Games men's shotput

NEW CLARK CITY - Another gold, another meet record.

Willie Morrison held his own and triumphed in the men's shotput of the 30th Southeast Asian Games with yet another golden record on Sunday.

The Indiana University stalwart threw the metal ball to a distance of 18.38 meters for a new meet standard.

He shattered the eighth-year record of 17.74 meters held by Polyiam Chatchawal of Thailand.

It was the second meet record established by a Filipino trackster for the the day after Natalie Uy did it in women's pole vault.
