GILAS Pilipinas remains without a final 12 for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball tournament in Thailand on Wednesday.
Head coach Norman Black on Tuesday said that the roster would be finalized on Wednesday, but he or the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas haven’t announced the full line-up, as of posting time.

At the moment, only Ray Parks, Thirdy Ravena, Jamie Malonzo, Matthew Wright, Robert Bolick, Abu Tratter, Von Pessumal, and Veejay Pre have been cleared by organizers to be part of Gilas Pilipinas for the SEA Games. Parks, though, will join the team later because of his commitments in Japan.
A source said the situation remains the same, with the SBP still awaiting word from the organizers on who the eligible players are to fill the four remaining slots.
Seven of the eight players that have been deemed eligible for the tournament, and several others have already begun their practices at the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center inside the Ateneo de Manila University campus.
But as it waits, the federation has also called-up a couple more to practice, mostly from the college ranks, in the event that there will be cases of ineligible players again.
Dalph Panopio, Cedrick Manzano, Poy Erram, and Justin Chua are among the players that have already joined practice, but as to whether the four, or the other players for that matter, are eligible or not remains a question mark.
The SEA Games formally begins on December 9 but the men’s basketball tournament will start on December 13 with Gilas Pilipinas set for action the following day against Malaysia at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.
