SUBIC, Zambales — After an opening-day loss, Philippines bets Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons bounced back on Sunday to even their record in the beach volleyball tournament the 30th Southeast Asian Games on Sunday at the converted Subic Tennis Court.
SiPons defeated Vietnam duo Tuong Vy Nguyen and Nguyen Lan Vu, 22-20 21-15, to improve its win-loss record 1-1 in the single round robin preliminaries.
Earlier in the day, Rondina and Pons also defeated Vietnam, 21-8, 21-17, before Dzi Gervacio and Dij Rodriguez bowed to the Vietnamese, 21-14, 21-16.
The Philippines will be up against Malaysia on Monday.
