FILIPINA bowlers fell way short in the Southeast Asian Games women’s singles, with Liza del Rosario struggling to eighth spot on Tuesday at the Coronado Lanes in Starmall EDSA.
Del Rosario could only come up with 1,213 pinfalls in the six-game series, averaging 202.17, her best a 236 but with lows of 155 and 184.
Singapore’s New Hui Fen topped the event with 1,372 pinfalls, averaging 228.67.
Indonesia’s Tannya Roumimper took the silver with 1,307, averaging 217.83.
Shayna Ng, also from Singapore, bagged the bronze with 1,271 points and 211.83 average.
Alexis Sy of the Philippines placed 11th with a total of 1,203 pinfalls, averaging 200.33.
Bea Hernandez placed 17th at 1,100, while Lara Posadas-Wong scored 1,089 in the event featuring 28 bowlers.
