SIBOL Women’s journey at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games 2025 Women’s MLBB tournament once again ended in heartbreak, after falling to Malaysia in the gold medal match to settle for silver once again.

The ladies couldn't sustain their strong start in the group stage, as they fell to Malaysia 3-4 in the finale.

Still, it was a valiant effort for the ladies, who proved that Filipinas are still among the best MLBB talents in the region -- even when the result didn't go their way.

In Game 1, MAS. Farisha executed a flawless Arlott Final Slash, setting up a take down of Sheen “Shinoa” Perez (PHI.Perez) on Melissa while also eliminating Mery “Meraaay” Vivero (PHI. Vivero) on Baxia in the process during the 7-minute turtle fight.

MAS. Farisha became a real headache to the Philippines, as she found her way to the backlines to deliver a perfect 5-0-10 KDA.

The Philippines quickly bounced back in Game 2, learning from the previous game while putting the pressure on MAS. Farisha, playing as Lapu-Lapu in the EXP lane.

PHI. Perez, playing Bruno, eliminated MAS. Alia’s Chou during the 14-minute top-lane push, giving the Philippines enough leverage for a tower lock.

Rica "Amoree" Amores (PHI. Amores) unleashed fury with Yve, pulling off a 1-1-10 KDA to tie the series 1-1 against Malaysia.

Game 3 saw Malaysia take an early lead, but the Philippines responded swiftly, reducing the gold deficit and reclaiming map control after Kaye "Keishi" Alpuerto’s Nolan secured the second turtle.

The match was tight, with scores nearly even, but the Philippines seized the advantage when MAS. Alia’s Gatotkaca was mispositioned right before the explosive 15-minute mid-lane skirmish.

PHI. Alpuerto’s Nolan sliced through Malaysia for a crucial double kill, eliminating MAS.Queenie's Lunox and MAS. Farisha's Arlott.

Despite the Lord being up for grabs with no contention from Malaysia, the Philippines chose to focus on taking the inhibitor turrets to close out the game.

PHI. Amores, playing as Kimmy, once again powered the Philippines to victory with a stellar 4-0-4 KDA.

Meanwhile, Malaysia bounced back and managed not to concede any deaths until the nine-minute Lord clash to tie the grand finale series at 2-2 against the Philippines.

MAS. Farisha on Alice became Malaysia’s lethal weapon with her timely Throne of Ruins initiations and delivered a flawless 6-0-10 KDA against the Philippines.

Game 5 saw both representatives having a grueling 21-minute showdown, with the Philippines having a hard time sealing the victory without a marksman gold laner in the late game.

PHI. Diagon’s Esmeralda made a huge impact in the middle lane, keeping MAS. Hanis’ Odette at bay for the Philippines to claim the 21-minute Lord without a problem.

The Philippines committed fully to the final base push after PHI. Alpuerto took down MAS. Queenie’s Claude, cracking Malaysia’s defenses weaker.

PHI. Diagon’s dominant 7-3-10 KDA outing pushed the Philippines just one victory away from securing gold.

That, however, was not meant to be.

Mlaysia pushed the series to a thrilling Game 7 by taking Game 6 against the Philippines.

The two squads battled through an exhausting 22-minute game, and despite PHI. Alpuerto, claiming the last lord with Ling, Malaysia, pressed on to deny the Philippines a comeback and take down PHI. Alpuerto and PHI. Vivero on Khaleed.

Malaysia sealed the gold once and for all after dismantling the Philippines during the 12-minute Lord dance in Game 7.

MAS. Hanis on Kimmy secured the 13-minute lord objective, and it became the perfect opportunity for Malaysia to defeat the Philippines, which failed to contest the lord.
