KUALA LUMPUR - Singapore beat Vietnam, 80-73, on Thursday to arrange a semifinal match with Gilas Pilipinas in the 29th Southeast Asian Games men's basketball tournament at the MABA Stadium.

Delvin Goh and Wenquiang Low had 18 points each for the Singaporeans, who finished second in Group A behind Indonesia with a 3-1 (win-loss) record at the end of the preliminaries.

However, Singapore, the bronze medalist in SEA Games basketball two years ago, faces an arduous task against the Gilas cadets, who finished the preliminaries with a 3-0 record in Group B.

The match is set at 5 p.m.

Indonesia, which went unbeaten in the preliminaries, will face Thailand in the other semifinal. The Indonesians beat the Thais, 60-59, in the Seaba Championship in Manila.
