AS expected, the Philippines secured the top seed with a stellar performance in the MLBB Men’s Group Stage at the 2025 SEA Games in Bangkok’s Sala Phra Kieo, Chulalongkorn University.

The Philippines swept the group stages Indonesia, Laos, Singapore and Malaysia to secure the top seed and the semis spot in the tournament.

It was an action-packed Group Stage, and let’s take a quick recap of how SIBOL MLBB Men squad wasted no time proving why the Philippines is home to MLBB world champions.

The Philippines pulled off a decisive 2-0 against Laos in the SEA Games MLBB Men’s Group Stage, securing back-to-back wins after sweeping Indonesia earlier.

In Game 1, the Philippines completely overwhelmed Laos in terms of securing objectives and map control and even pulled a dominant 21-4 kill score.

Kiel “Oheb” Soriano (PHI. Soriano), playing as Granger, delivered a masterclass on marksmanship during the final turret siege with a maniac kill score.

Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (PHI. Vinuya) set the tone with an aggressive playstyle on Arlott, earning MVP honors with a solid 2-2-8 KDA.

The Filipino representatives rolled into Game 2 with confidence, overpowering Laos and maintaining a perfect early game without a single death until the 5-minute mark.

PHI Soriano on Granger once again delivered an outstanding performance with a flawless 10-0-0 KDA.

The Philippines then swept Singapore in the SEA Games MLBB Men’s Group Stage, securing top 3 and advancing to the Knockout Stage.

In Game 1, Singapore demonstrated it could keep pace with the Philippines by limiting the gold gap, managing the map well, and responding effectively in team fights.

But it was the Philippine representatives who emerged victorious, powered by the “San-San” duo. PHI. Vinuya on Esmeralda executed a perfect zoning that secured a double kill against SGP Brayden on Yi Sun Shin and Aaron on Pharsa.

Alston “Sanji” Pabico (PHI. Pabico) on Zhuxin delivered a clutch double kill in the final clash, helping SIBOL sweep Singapore and close Game 1 with a 7-3-9 KDA.

Game 2 told a different tale as the Philippines utterly dominated Singapore, finishing the game in a swift 10 minutes and racking up a lopsided 31-6 kill score.

In the night cap against Malaysia, the Philippines continued its dominance.

Game 1 featured a tight early-game battle between Malaysia and the Philippines, with both teams trading objectives and carefully timing their teamfight initiations and counterengages.

The SIBOL squad extended their lead after PHI. Pabico’s Yve secured a double kill against Malaysia, creating the perfect opening for a midlane rundown at the 10-minute mark.

PHI. Vinuya landed a perfectly timed Throne of Ruin-Flicker combo during the 11-minute team fight in the top lane jungle, catching three Malaysian players before PHI. Soriano’s Harith secured a game-winning double kill in the final push.

In Game 2, the Philippines was unstoppable in displaying its tactical brilliance over Malaysia, prioritizing objectives over kill score.

PHI. Nepomuceno showcased his trademark Lancelot with a triple kill at the 12-minute top-lane clash, pushing Malaysia onto the back foot.

Malaysia’s attempt to contest the Lord at the 13-minute mark backfired, leading to a full team wipe that allowed the Philippines to secure the win.
