AT least 20 gold medals are expected to be delivered by sports being backed by Go For Gold Philippines and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in the coming 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Asian Games gold medalist Margielyn Didal of skateboard and triathletes Nikko Huelgas and Kim Remolino lead the pool of athletes the two institutions are supporting in their campaign for the Nov. 30 to Dec. 11 biennial meet.
Others on the list are cyclists Daniel Ven Carino and Ismael Grospe Jr, along with International Master Marvin Miciano of chess.
“These are multi-medalists already in their respective sports,” said Go For Gold godfather Jeremy Go during the presentation of athletes under its wings with the PCSO.
“I believe our athletes are all very well-prepared and highly-motivated. I’m sure that we will have a very good performance.”
The Go For Gold program is the corporate social responsibility of Powerball Marketing and Logistics Corporation for Sports, the makers of Scratch It game cards under the PCSO.
Also present were PCSO general manager Rovina Garma and PCSO Product and Standard Development Department manager Roger Ramirez.
