ATHLETES bound for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand will be receiving additional cash from the Philippine Sports Commission with the Christmas season right around the corner.
PSC chairman Patrick Gregorio announced on Friday during the athletes’ send-off at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum that all national athletes will be getting a Christmas bonus of P18,000.

Gregorio furthered that SEA Games-bound athletes will be receiving an additional P6,000 allowance for their trip to Thailand for the competition that will run from December 9 to 20.
“Para manalo kayo nang mas maraming ginto… ang Philippine Sports Commission, bibigyan kayo lahat ng Christmas bonus ng tig-P18,000 in cash. Lahat kayo, P24,000 each,” said Gregorio to the delight of the athletes in attendance.
As such, all 1,168 Filipino athletes across 50 sports in the Thailand SEA Games will be receiving an amount totaling around P28 million.
Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino, Sen. Bong Go, Deputy Speaker Rep. Bojie Dy, and Leyte Rep. Richard Gomez were among the VIPs that attended the send-off.
