SINGAPORE — Scottie Thompson hurt his ankle during the Philippines’ game against Indonesia on Tuesday but he is expected to be back in action for the Gilas cadets in the 28th Southeast Asian Games

The Perpetual Help star writhed in pain after an Indonesian player fell on his ankle, sparking near skirmish before cooler heads prevailed. He was carried off the court by teammates and never returned.

But head coach Tab Baldwin allayed fears of a serious injury.

    “It’s a twisted ankle,” Baldwin said. “I don’t think it’s a sprain.”

Baldwin, however, hinted that Thompson might not play for their next match against Timor Leste.

“Probably tomorrow against Timor Leste, he might not play but we will see. I want everyone to play,” said Baldwin.
