KUALA LUMPUR - Eric Cray missed out on a repeat of his double-gold medal feat from two years ago, settling for thesilver medal in the 100-meter dash in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

The Fil-American runner finished second to Kairul Hafiz of Malaysia in front of a boisterous crowd at the Bukit Jalil Stadium as he lost his title as Southeast Asian's fastest man.

Cray timed 10.43 seconds, .04 slower than Hafiz in an event that came less than an hour after competing in the 400m hurdles in which he won the SEA Games gold for the third consecutive time.

Cray was neck-and-neck with Hafiz but the Malaysian pulled away in the final 50 meters, even stumbling as he crossed the finish line.
