THE renovation at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum is nearing its completion as work began on the installation of equipment for the gymnastics competitions of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Gerard Lico, the architect responsible for the renovations at the historic venue, posted on his Facebook account photos of Rizal Memorial Coliseum playing floor showing mats and other equipment for the gymnastics tournament.
Also seen in the post are the new seats at the lower box section as well as foldable seats found at the patron section of the venue. The new-look lobby was also featured in the post.
The photos drew positive reactions from netizens following the transformation of one of the county's historic gymnasiums. The exterior of the coliseum was also recently lighted.
Round-the-clock work continues at the Rizal Coliseum along with other adjacent venues with container trucks delivering gymnastics equipment for installation at the venue.
The Rizal Memorial Coliseum will be used for the gymnastics event slated to begin on December 1, with Caloy Yulo aiming to sweep all his events following his conquest of the Artistic World Championships floor exercise event.
