THE women’s floorball team gave the Philippines its first victory in the 30th Southeast Asian Games with an 8-1 victory over Indonesia on Monday at the University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics Gym.
Jade Rivera scored five goals for the Philippines to come up with the victory in the sport with similarities to field hockey and ice hockey.
“We didn’t expect to win this big. We only prepared as a team for one week, but I guess everyone wanted to win as one, just like the motto of the SEA Games,” Rivera said.
The Philippine team will face Thailand on Tuesday, 1 p.m. in continuing action of women’s floorball.
