ALEX Eala and partner Nino Alcantara will have to settle for bronze once again, as they succumbed to the home bets, 7-5, 5-7, 7-10, in the semifinals of the mixed doubles tournament of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
The Filipino duo were forced to a tiebreak after the Thais took the second set and successfully turned the momentum to their advantage to seal the win.
Eala and Alcantara told the media after the game: “No regrets, we did everything we could.”

On her end, Eala remains alive to fight for gold in women’s singles, where she is the highest-ranked participant.
