CHONBURI, Thailand – The Philippine practical shooting team snagged four gold medals for Team Philippines in the Southeast Asian Games on Monday in Pattaya.
World champion Rolly Tecson led the winners with his conquest of the men’s standard event, with Edcel Gino winning the men’s production optics, Erin Micor in the women’s open, and Genesis Pible in the women’s production optics.

Confusion marred Sunday’s event as four gold medals was already awarded to the Philippine practical shooting team, and reflected in the official website.
The four gold medals were eventually taken down as the event was slated to conclude on Monday.
But apparently, Monday’s final day was a mere formality.
Tecson was crowned as the IPSC Handgun World Shoot champion in the same event last August in South Africa in a 1-2 finish with Khalil Viray.
Tecson scored 1,680.7889 in the practical shooting competition of speed and precision where participants went through 18 stages across three days.
Viray actually placed second in the SEA Games standard event, but did not win a medal due to a one-medal, one-country rule imposed by the organizers.
Gino took the men’s production optics with a score of 1,654.0344, while Micor had a cumulative total score of 1,399.3154 for the gold in the women’s open.
Pible was awarded the gold in the women’s production optics with a score of 1,293.7900.
