THE Filipino triathletes will resume training just a week after dominating the Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian Games.

Men’s gold medalist Nikko Bryan Huelgas and silver medalist John Chicano will train in Australia, while women’s champion Kim Mangrobang and runner-up Claire Adorna will continue training in Portugal, according to Triathlon Association of the Philippines secretary-general Tom Carrasco.

“After this (SEA Games) one week rest lang kami then back to the drawing board to set up a master plan for our four triathletes,” said Carrasco.

Mangrobang and Adorna train under coach Sergio Santos, while Huelgas and Chicano are handled by Brett Sutton.

“Walang patid yan. Tuluy-tuloy na ang preparation naming sa kanila hanggang next year’s Asian Games in Jakarta, SEA Games in Manila and Summer Olympics in Tokyo with the help, of course, of the Philippine Sports Commission and hopefully the private sector,” Carrasco said.
