NEW CLARK CITY - Natalie Uy made up for the sorry loss of Kristina Knott in the century dash behind a record-breaking leap in women's pole vault of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
The pretty pole vaulter cleared the bar at 4.25 meters in winning the gold and setting a new meet standard.

Sukanya Chomchuendee of Thailand held the previous SEA Games mark of 4.21 meters set in the 2013 staging of regional event.
"It's an incredible journey to come over here," said Uy later. "I know I can do it. I just do what I do in practice and have fun."
With Uy's victory, the country completed a sweep of the pole vault events for the very first time.

Olympic-bound EJ Obiena earlier won the men's side also with a new SEA Games record of 5.45 meters.
Chomchuendee incidentally finished runner-up to Uy this time with a 4.10 meter leap.
Taking the bronze was Thai compatriot Khabut Chonthicha with 4.00 meters.
