THE Philippines is assured of a gold in women’s skateboarding after Margielyn Didal and Christiana Means beat Indonesian rivals in the semifinals on Wednesday at Sigtuna Hall in Tagaytay City.
Didal, the reigning Asian Games champion, beat Nyimas Cinta while Means outclassed Kyandra Susanto to advance to the game of S.K.A.T.E. finals to be played on Thursday.
The 20-year-old Didal beat Shin Thant Thaw Dar of Myanmar in the preliminary round of the skateboard event similar to H.O.R.S.E. in basketball.
Means, 22, beat Abdullah Nur Farah Atika of Malaysia in the preliminaries.
Aside from game of S.K.A.T.E., Didal is also entered in the street, the event where she won the Asian Games gold.
Means, on the other hand, will also compete in the street and park.
