KUALA LUMPUR — Kiefer Ravena brought all three of his gold medals in the Southeast Asian Games to serve as a motivation for him in this year's edition.
"Gusto ko lang siya nakikita kasi gustong gusto kong dagdagan," said Ravena.
"Hindi sa dahil expected manalo. Ito 'yung pinakamahirap na SEA Games. Motivation lang."
On Saturday night, Ravena won his fourth straight SEA Games gold after beating Indonesia in the final at the MABA Stadium.
Ravena scored a stepback triple in the final moments, which may have been his final basket in the regional tournament.
But he is not discounting the possibility of going for a fifth gold in the SEA Games especially with the Philippines hosting it in 2019.
"We will see. Sa Manila ang SEA Games. Bakit hindi?" Ravena said.
While he says each SEA Games stint was special, Ravena said 2017 was the toughest.
The Philippines overcame tough matches against Thailand and Singapore before facing Indonesia after a short preparation for the regional meet.
"Amazing. Every SEA Games, special. Every two years lang ito. Dalawang taon ko na naman dadalhin 'to," said Ravena.
"Mas gitgitan (ngayon) kasi gumagaling na 'yung ibang bansa. Mission accomplished na. Wala nang ibang kailangan sabihin pa," said Ravena.
