PATTAYA, Thailand – Juliana Gomez got herself a bronze medal in the women’s team epee event of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
The daughter of actor-politician-sportsman Richard Gomez teamed up with Alexa Larrazabal, Hanniel Abella, and Ivy Claire Dinoy earned a medal in the regional meet in the competition which began with a 45-19 win over Indonesia.
But the Philippines lost a close one to Singapore, 45-40, to settle for the bronze.

By winning a bronze, though, Gomez will also go home with a medal together with father Richard, who got a silver in the shooting sporting clay event.
On to the next for Gomez
The 25-year-old Gomez also competed in the women’s individual epee on Tuesday where she lost in her first match against Jing Xuan Yap of Malaysia.
“Disappointment is an understatement actually,” Gomez told POC Media Pool after the loss in the individual event. “I wanted to win for the country. I wanted to do better. Not much I can say. It was a bad game on my part. I take full accountability. I have so much to learn. I have to learn from this."
“After the SEA Games, work hard again. The process will continue,” she continued.
