LIGHT flyweight Josie Gabuco reasserted her supremacy in the region by winning the gold medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games on Monday at the PICC Forum.

The reigning Asian champion got her fifth gold in the SEA Games after beating Endang of Indonesia via unanimous decision to continue her reign in the region.
It was also Gabuco’s first gold in the SEA Games after women’s boxing was not held in Kuala Lumpur two years ago.

Gabuco, who began winning in the SEA Games in 2009 in Laos, got control of the fight with her right hooks that Endang couldn’t contain. All five judges scored the bout, 30-27.
