THE young Gilas Pilipinas side bound for Malaysia for the 29th Southeast Asian Games flashed a glimpse of its potential as it manhandled Far Eastern University, 95-66, in their tune-up game on Saturday at the Upper Deck gym.

FEU products Raymar Jose, Mike Tolomia, and Mac Belo proved to be thorns on the side of their alma mater as they conspired in leading the national dribblers to the blowout win.

Gilas showed more cohesion following a close 86-79 win against Ateneo in their exhibition last Tuesday.

"We improved, not necessarily because we won, but generally we improved," Gilas coach Jong Uichico said. "We had more rhythm. We knew what we were doing already."

"But this is not an indication of what is in store in the SEA Games," he was quick to add.
