BANGKOK – Jasmine Althea Ramilo shone in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games rhythmic gymnastics by taking the women’s individual all-around on Tuesday.
Ramilo registered a cumulative score of 102.180 in the four apparatus to wrest the gold from Mikayla Angeline Yang of Singapore with a score of 101.490.
The last time the Philippines won a gold in rhythmic gymnastics was in 2019 when Daniela Dela Pisa captured the hoop apparatus gold.
Ramilo topped the clubs with a score of 27.56, and finished second in the ball with 25.65, second in the hoop with 25.52, and second in the ribbon with 23.45.
The 17-year-old Ramilo was the third Philippine gymnast to win the gold in this edition of the SEA Games following Aleah Finnegan (artistic - women’s vault) and John Ivan Cruz (artistic - men’s vault).
