JAMIE Christine Lim showed that she's every inch a winner as her dad is, winning the gold medal in the women's +61kg kumite in the 30th Southeast Asian Games karatedo competitions on Monday at World Trade Center.

The daughter of PBA legend Samboy Lim proved that her father's champion legacy also runs in her blood, scoring the crucial hit on Georgia Zefanya Ceyco of Indonesia inside the last 20 seconds to take the 2-1 victory.

Lim downed Aurdrey Japyus of Malaysia, 7-3, in the quarterfinals before dominating Thi Thao Bui of Vietnam, 5-1, in the semis.

It was the second gold for the Filipino karatekas after Junna Tsukii's triumph in the women's -50 kg kumite.

The men also salvaged a pair of bronze medals in their weight classes.

Ivan Christopher Agustin romped Htet Zaw Min of Myanmar, 11-4, in the bronze medal match of men's -75 kg kumite.

Agustin beat Virak Sreang of Cambodia, 2-1, in the quarters, but got outpointed and fell to Songvut Muntaen of Thailand, 8-9, in the semis.
