JACK Animam is in line for a return to Southeast Asian Games competition after being part of the pool for the two women teams for Gilas Pilipinas in the biennial meet set to be held in Cambodia from May 5 to 17.

Animam is joined in the 5-on-5 pool by Afril Bernardino, Stefanie Berberabe, Mikka Cacho, Clare Castro, Chack Cabinin, Khate Castillo, Camille Clarin, Monique Del Carmen, Ella Fajardo, Trina Guytingco, Andrea Tongco, Janine Pontejos, Angel Surada, Kacey Dela Rosa, Mai Loni Lashae’ Henson, Louna Ozar, Kristine Cayabyab, Aurea Day Marie Gingras, Kristan Geyl Yumul, Kennan Elizabeth Ka, Katelyn Bobadilla, Karl Ann Pingol, Sofia Roman, and Jhazmin Joson.
Animam is also in the 3x3 pool along with Bernardino, Castillo, Dela Rosa, Pontejos, Cayabyab, and Henson.
After helping the Philippines capture its first women’s basketball gold in 2019 for both 5-on-5 and 3x3, Animam skipped the competition last year in Hanoi after sustaining an ACL injury during her campaign in Serbia.
Even with her absence, Gilas Women came away with the gold medal in the SEA Games for the second straight time.
With the exception of Gabi Bade, all the members of the 2021 team that won the gold in 5-on-5 are in the pool in Bernardino, Berberabe, Castro, Cabinbin, Castillo, Clarin, Fajardo, Guytingco, Tongco, Pontejos, and Surada.
The women’s team didn’t win a medal in the 3x3 in Hanoi.
