MYANMAR continued to lord it over the medal tally of the 27th Southeast Asian Games with eight gold medals, thanks to victories in the taolu events of wushu.
The host country, which also won golds from its indigenous sport of chinlone, also has two silvers and three bronzes as of Sunday.
Malaysia is in second place with 2-4-8 (gold-silver-bronze), followed by Thailand (2-2-1), Indonesia (2-1-2), Vietnam (2-1-1), Cambodia (0-2-2), and Singapore (0-1-2).
The Philippines, meanwhile, still has one silver medal courtesy of the men’s duilian team.
Brunei and Timor Leste still has no medals yet.
Although the formal opening of the biennial meet won't take place until December 11, several sports are already being played.
