PATTAYA, Thailand – Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women bowed out of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games on Wednesday night after losing to Malaysia, 21-19, at the close of the group stage at the Nimibutr Stadium.
The Nationals made up of Kaye Pingol, Jhaz Joson, Mikka Cacho, and Tantoy Ferrer missed the semifinal round after they also lost to Indonesia, 21-15, earlier in the day.

Misses in the endgame from lay-ups and free throws proved costly for the reigning silver medalists, giving Malaysia an open road to the semifinals alongside Indonesia in Group A.
Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Women missed out on the gold medal again after finishing second behind Vietnam in 2023. The Nationals were also booted out of the podium finish in 2022.
The Philippines squandered an 18-16 lead after scoring three straight points capped by a Ferrer lay-up. But Malaysia tied the match on a two to start a 4-0 blast, and the Philippines began missing shots from point blank afterwards.
