PATTAYA, Thailand – Gilas Pilipinas will face either Indonesia or Vietnam in the semifinals of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball tournament.
Indonesia ended up as the second placer in Group B, while Vietnam finished as the third seed in Group A to arrange the quarterfinal battle, the winner of which taking on Gilas Pilipinas, which gained an outright berth in the final four by sweeping Group A.
Gilas beat Vietnam, 78-67, on Monday, a follow-up to the 83-58 victory it had last Sunday against Malaysia.

Thailand, meanwhile, swept Group B after dispatching Myanmar, 133-38, to finish the preliminaries with a 3-0 win-loss record.
The host country will play either Group A second-seed Malaysia or Group B third-ranked Singapore in the semifinals.
Indonesia clinched the second spot via an 87-48 win over Singapore, arranging a quarterfinal duel with Vietnam, which placed third owing to the loss to the Philippines on Sunday.
