GILAS Pilipinas will be taking on Singapore, instead of Malaysia, on Wednesday, December 4 to open the 30th Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
In a revision to the schedule released by the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) on November 3, Gilas Pilipinas will now be up against Singapore to open hostilities of Group A, still at 8:15 p.m.
Gilas will still be having a break on Thursday, December 5, before facing Vietnam on Friday, December 6 and Myanmar on Saturday, December 7, both games also slated at 8:15 p.m. in a move perhaps to accommodate more viewers on the venue and on television.

Group B will now consists of 2017 silver medalist Indonesia, bronze medalist Thailand, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
The top two teams in each group will battle in a crossover semifinals on Monday, December 9 at 3:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. respectively before the gold medal match set Tuesday, December 10 at 8:15 p.m.
