BANGKOK - Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Men will come home empty-handed in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
The Philippines lost in the bronze medal game to Malaysia, 21-19, in stunning fashion at the Nimibutr Stadium here.

With that, for the first time since the inception of 3x3 basketball in 2019, the Philippines wiill be left without a medal. Gilas 3x3 Women was earlier eliminated after losing their two group stage matches.
It was a tight contest all throughout, but Malaysia got some breathing space with a 16-13 lead.
But the team of Ange Kouame, Joseph Sedurifa, Joseph Eriobu, and Janrey Pasaol couldn’t mount a late comeback, and Malaysia coming out as winners.
Thailand eventually won the gold medal in the men’s side, beating Singapore 21-18.
The Philippines swept pool play, beating Vietnam, 21-15, and Malaysia, 21-19, last Wednesday. Gilas 3x3 formally clinched a semifinal berth with a 21-10 win over Laos.
But Gilas 3x3’s title bid came to a shocking end during the afternoon when Singapore nipped them, 21-20.
