BANGKOK – Aleah Finnegan secured the gold medal in the women’s vault of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games artistic gymnastics competition.
Finnegan registered 13.433 to take the gold via slim margin over Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu of Vietnam by a mere 0.033 points.

Finnegan bagged her third SEA Games gold, and the first since skipping the 2023 edition.
Anxious moments, however, set in when tournament officials flashed the wrong score on the screen at the competition area that had the 2024 Olympian in second-place.
“I was a bit nervous because they accidentally flashed the wrong score just for a second on the screen,” said Finnegan. “I looked at the score and talking to the judges. We weren’t really sure how they got that score because the scores that we saw originally was different.”
“We were calculating, so much math. We are thankful for our Filipino judges. We are thankful to all the staff that were making sure that this is the final score and this is the correct order.”
