LUCAS Oijvall Perez drilled in the game-winning goal at the buzzer to lift the Philippine men's floorball team to a thrilling 8-7 victory over Malaysia in the 30th Southeast Asian Games Friday at UP CHK Gym.

Perez' stunning goal just before the final buzzer capped an amazing fightback from the hosts from a 7-4 deficit with 15 minutes left.

Aristeo Perol II found Christian Schoultze at the 47th minute before Perez connected with Henrik Dahmen at the final 53:30 mark to close the gap to one. Schoultze then exploded for the match-tying goal just 28 seconds later.

Perez then saved his best for last, refusing to go on a draw as he unloaded a bullet off a Schoultze pass to improve the hosts' record in the group phase to 2-2 (win-loss).

Roxane Ruiz also provided the heroics as the Philippine women's floorball team forced a 4-all deadlock against its Malaysian foes.

Team captain Jade Rivera set up Ruiz for the goal at the 58th minute to salvage the draw in the back and forth affair.

The Filipinas ended the eliminations with a 1-2-1 record.

Those teams meet anew on Sunday, this time with the bronze medal hanging in the balance for both the men's and women's sides.
