Golden double for Eric Cray as he rules 400 meter hurdles, sets new SEA Games record

SINGAPORE — Eric Shauwn Cray continued to dominate the track at the Singapore Nationalo Stadium, setting a new Southeast Asian Games record as he won the 400-meter hurdles gold medal on Wednesday.

Cray clocked 49.40 seconds to erase the 20-year-old mark of 49.76 mark set by Chanon Keanchan of Thailand in the 1995 SEA Games in Chiang Mai.

Vietnam’s Cong Lich Quach bagged the silver in 50.29 seconds, while Indonesia’s Andrian Andrian clocked 51.36 in taking the bronze.

Another Filipino, Junrey Bano, finished in 53.07 and wound up in sixth.
