DIVINE Wally joined the Filipinos who assured themselves of at least a silver medal as they trumped their respective foes in sanda in the wushu competitions of the 30th Southeast Asian Games Monday at World Trade Center.
Wally, a bronze medalist in the 2018 Asian Games, wasted little time dispatching Laty Keobounthan of Laos to emerge victorious in the women's 48-kilogram category.
She bannered the six wushu warriors who advanced to the Finals of their respective weight divisions, slated on Tuesday.

Arnel Mandal also hardly broke a sweat as he dominated Van Huong Dinh of Vietnam in the 52 kg semifinals.
Jessie Aligaga bucked a slow start to trample Minh Duc Vu of Vietnam in the 48 kg category, while Francisco Solis bullied Kai Wen Teng of Malaysia in the 56 kg category.
In the 60 kg category, Gideon Fred Padua mauled Charuwat Khunphet of Thailand in two rounds, while Clemente Tabugara Jr. capped off the Philippines' clean slate with a waylaying of Chit Ko Ko of Myanmar.
