YOUTH was served when the women's 3x3 basketball pool for the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asian Games was formed.

Camille Clarin and Angel Surada, fixtures in the Philippine team which competed in the 2019 Fiba 3x3 Under-18 World Cup back in June, have been included in the seven-woman pool for the biennial games.

Clarin and Surada, both still 18 years of age and currently suiting up for National University, infuse young blood in a pool largely made up of seasoned veterans.

Also part of the pool were Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos, Jack Animam, and Clare Castro, who were the country's representatives in the 2019 Fiba 3x3 Asia Cup last May.

Gemma Miranda, who last played for the 2018 Fiba 3x3 World Cup, completes the list.

No less than Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) program director for women's Patrick Aquino unveiled the pool.

"The team consists of experienced 3x3 players and their recent showings in the FIBA events make them knowledgeable about the game, putting us in a good position to win a medal for the SEA Games," he said.
