KUALA LUMPUR - Anna Clarice Patrimonio advanced to the finals of the women's singles tennis of the 29th Southeast Asian Games at the National Tennis Centre.
The daughter of PBA legend Alvin Patrimonio beat fourth-seed Ka Andrea Daray of Cambodia, 6-0, 6-3, in the semifinal round to arrange a gold-medal match with Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand on Saturday.
The No. 1 ranked Kumkhum defeated Tan Li Yan Stefani of Singapore, 6-0, 6-0, in the other semifinal pairing.
Also in the finals are the men's doubles pair of Ruben Gonzales and Francis Casey Alcantara after they beat Thailand's Kittiphong W. and Wishaya T. in a grueling match, 6-3, 7-6, 13-11.
The No. 2 Gonzales and Alcantara will take on Thailand's Sanchai Ratiwatana and Sonchat Ratiwatana, the top-seed in the doubles, for the gold medal.
